Changes to the BBQ Meetup follow!
What: BBQ at the park (or for the aficionados, it's technically grilling)
When: Saturday, March 20,[masked]:00 PM
100 Girard Park Lane Le terrain de p?tanque
Lafayette, LA 70503
We are going to have our meeting somewhere at Girard Park. I'm going to put up an LAFF sign (no mention of atheism/freethought directly, just the initials LAFF) since Girard Park isn't small, and someone who hasn't seen any of us might not know where the hell we are. If you want to circle the park from the road once, I'll make sure the sign is visible from there.THINGS FOR PEOPLE TO BRING
We need a few more things (target 8-15 people for the amounts here).
- A table (highest priority if all the tables are taken!)
Hot dogs (Alex) Hamburgers (Alex) Charcoal (Alex) Cheese and condiments (pickles/onions/lettuce/mayo/mustard/spinach) (Alex)
- Paper plates and napkins
- Plastic cups and plastic cutlery
- Drinks (please list type of beverage so that those who are picky may bring their own)
- Buns (hot dog buns and hamburger buns)
First person to comment wins (the responsibility for that item). I'll update the list from those claiming an item in the comments. I just claimed a bunch because I happened to have a lot of these items on-hand already. If you want to bring something not on this list, I'll append it to the list if you put it in your comment. Also, a relaxed dialogue
After a couple hours, we'll post signs up to "talk to some Atheists" or something...we'll make the signs there. We will just sit back and wait for people to approach us. We can probably just serve out our remaining beverages. I think it'll be fun to try let normal people engage us and for us to tell them what we are all about. I'll try to make some pamphlets that cover some of the basic ideas of atheism (including a proper definition).
