WELCOME TO THE PROGRESSIVE MOMS OF THE LAGRANGE AREA
Thanks for visiting our site. Here we'd like to lay down some house rules so you know what to expect of our group, and in turn, what we expect of you.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US:
We hope that you find this group to be warm and welcoming. We strive to bring our mamas and kids together for friendship, support, learning, and laughter. We would love to have your ideas and input regarding activities. Please don't be shy.
Our message board is also a great place to look for help, support, or if you just want to know what's new with the mamas. Don't forget to check it regularly to keep up.
Most of the kids range in age from 0 to 4. We welcome all ages of kids, but know that most activities will be appropriate for that age range.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN EXPECT:
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
We don't expect too much of you, honest. Mostly we just want to get to know you. In order to do that, we would appreciate it if you could maintain an active membership. Please use the following as general guidelines:
- In-home playgroups
- Picnics at a playground(indoor/outdoor depending on season)
- Walking group
- Mom's Night Out
- Mom's Night In (games, arts and crafts, etc)
- Whole family gatherings
- Art museums
- Trips to the city
- Zoo trips
- Arboretum trips
- Volunteering/Charity work
- Special instructional meetings: cloth diapering, making natural cleaning supplies, baby food prep and family meal prep, art, music.
- PLEASE ATTEND REGULARLY
This may mean once a week for some people, but for others it may be once a month. We will look at this on a case-by-case basis. If you have not attended for 6 weeks, you will be automatically removed. If you feel you want to rejoin the group at a later time, please do. We'd love to have you back.
- PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE AND INCLUDE PICS
- WE REQUIRE AN ANNUAL FEE OF $10
It isn't much, but it'll pay for meetup.com fees and any other costs that may come up when planning and scheduling your exciting meetups. Any extra dues remaining at the end of the year will be given to a charity of choice by the members or saved for upcoming events. All accounting activity will be available for any member to peruse.
- NO SOLICITING
We are all here for friendship and support. We have made it a policy to not mix business with leisure. We have to say a blanket "no" to any requests for meetups to promote or sell any products. Do not email members about your products or product parties unless the individual has specifically requested the information. This should not preclude you from talking to members one-on-one at meetups about your products, if you wish. We will, however, gladly post meetups for charity events. Please contact one of our organizers with all the pertinent information.
- DON'T BE A MRS. BUMBLE WHILE AT A MEETUP
Please use common sense when attending meetups. If you RSVP "yes", please make an effort to show up. Mistakes happen, but don't let it become a habit. Please be especially considerate when the activity has a RSVP limit. Please leave sicknesses at home. Please leave if a child becomes disruptive enough to prevent others from having a good time.
- HOSTING AND EVENT IDEAS
We'd love it if you'd be willing to host an event in your home such as a playdate or mom's night in. Please let one of your organizers know if you are up for it. Additionally, please let us know if you have any ideas on events that you think would be fun. Maybe you have a great venue in your neighborhood, or perhaps you have a special skill you'd like to share. Please don't be shy, we appreciate your input.
- LADIES ONLY
Sorry dads! There are some great meetups for Dads, though. If you conduct a search on meetup, you are sure to find a group in your area. Good luck!
- HAVE FUN!
