Thanks to everyone who came to January's Meetup on Teaching Computer Science. Dave gave a fantastic presentation, and he really appreciated your questions and enthusiasm for the topic.
Next up, join us on February 20th at the Holiday Club for a conversation with Rod Holmes, the founding partner of Chicago Style SEO and all around source of current information on search engines. Rod is going to cover a full range of SEO tactics from site-wide to page-specific factors.
Rod will be discussing the following topics:
- How to properly use semantic tags from schema.org to target Google's algorithm.
- Organizing your site with the flat method for people and the silo method for search engines.
- Additional tools that can help your SEO including robots.txt and sitemap.xml.
As per usual, we'll be there at 6:30 for burgers, beer, and networking, and the presentation will start at 7:30. We ask for an optional $2 donation so we can cover our Meetup costs.
A bit about Rod Holmes:
Rod has been making his living from the web since 1999. He formed a successful online corporate training company while living in Tokyo, Japan. This led to a joint venture with Hitachi Corp. to develop an online learning management system. After selling both companies and returning to the States, he met Ben Robinson who began teaching Rod about SEO and PPC. The two of them started Chicago Style SEO in 2008 and have been helping clients "work with Google" ever since.
