High Dynamic Range | Assignment: Symmetry

presented by Dwayne Steager

Learn what High Dynamic Range photography is all about and some of the tools and best practices in creating some great imagery.

Assignment: Symmetry

(Noun)
1. The quality of being made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis.
2. Correct or pleasing proportion of the parts of a thing.

If you don't find yourself particularly inspired by the topic on any given month, we're giving members the option to submit ANY photograph taken that month for the critique. So now there's no excuses! It's time to jump into the deep end and get wet!

A few reminders about some of the basic rules of the assignment:

  • Members may submit 2 photos.
  • Photos should be emailed to Mike the Wednesday prior to the Thursday meeting.

If you have any additional questions, consult the Assignment FAQ or contact me at [masked]. Remember to get your shots to Mike B (as jpg's please) at [masked].

Learned alot on the subject of HDR. Of course, I was starting with a blank slate so "alot" is relative.

First, I appreciate the venue very much. Good luck with the hunt! Second, the information was just right, enough to pique interest and technical enough to engage those HDR experts in the audience. I have a few ideas on where I can use this, thanks for the inspiration Dwayne.

Dwayne's presentation was good, humerous and kept me interested. As always I picked up a few pointers. Glad his friend introduced him to the group years ago. :-)

Great talk!! thanks Dwayne, you really covered every aspect about HDR and that was interesting. (by the way your little guys at the beginning were awesome : )

The HDR presentation was a basic overview to start experimenting with the technology. It was nice to hear someone's perspective on the subject and to have additional resources provided. Great laid-back atmosphere.

Excellent topic, presented in a very understandable fashion, with a spice of humor thrown in at the right places. Well worth the drive from Quakertown, and very nice evening of discussion and critiquing. Thanks to all those who organize these events and to the PA Dutch County Visitor's Center for providing the site for these meeting.

I definitely enjoyed the meetup. Dwayne's presentation was really nice. Also, I enjoyed hearing critiques from people with more experience and photography knowledge than myself.

That was great, Dwayne. I've wondered about HDR and have had situations where I knew it would have helped...I'm gonna take the info you shared and give this a shot.

Updates to the attendance are done automatically. When someone undoes their RSVP, the computer automatically goes to the waiting list and selects the next person. Aren't computers wonderful.

It is rare that the waiting list leaves anyone behind. In the last few days before the event, people begin to refine their schedules and there is much turnover.
