3 New Things About the Lancaster Photo Meetup Group

From: Brian

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to pass along a couple of cool things that have just popped up with the group in the past couple of days.

National Christmas Center Photowalk
We're headed to Paradise for a bit of Christmas nostalgia! A photowalk that's fun for the whole at the National Christmas Center is on the books for Sunday, December 18th. 20,000 square feet of indoor exhibits including life-size nativities, a tribute to a 1950's Woolworths 5 & 10's, a storybook village, animatronic... stuff, and decorations galore. Lots of photo opportunities here. Check it out and RSVP:

Photo Meetup Group 52 Week Photo Project
If you missed it on the discussionboards here, we're starting a 52 week photo project just for our group over on Flickr! For the uninitiated, a 52 week project revolves around submitting one photo per week based on predetermined themes each week of 2012. The goal with this project is twofold. First it's an opportunity to challenge yourself as a photographer by forcing you to shoot every week and getting creative with different subject matter. Stretching your photographic comfort zone if you will. Secondly, it will give us all an opportunity to share more of our work with other members of the group!

The volunteer admins have already set up the group so head on over to Flickr to check it out. I encourage as many members to join the Flickr group as possible (even if you can't commit to every week, I'm sure we're okay if you submit every now and again) just so you can participate in any way you can. If you're not on Flickr, no worries, it's free for up to 200 photos so that has you covered for this project! We're buttoning up the details, but stay tuned throughout December for a finalized them list and get in on the conversation to shape this project.

2012 Holiday Party
We want to see as many as you as possible out at the 2012 holiday party on Saturday, January 21st. Good folks, good food, good beverages, and good times. Mark the date, and RSVP today!

Thanks everyone, hope to see you soon!
