Hi Jon,

We'll have another lighting meetup sometime in the future.  I can't say how soon we'll have another one as it took a lot of time and resources to pull this one together and I think we need some time to gear up again.  We'll definitely do it again sometime.

Hello fellow photographers,

Just a few quick notes about yesterday's great meetup and a few future looking items.

Recap & Thank Yous

There's lots of thanks to go around stemming from yesterday's fantastic portrait lighting meetup.  First off, thanks to everyone who came out!  It was our largest meetup yet, so let's keep building on that momentum.  I think it was a great success with lots of lighting knowledge passed along.

Of course, thanks goes out to Joel and Mike for putting the session together.  they put a lot of time and effort into making sure this event was successful.  Special thanks goes out to Joel for securing us a great location t hat provided us the opportunity for multiple setups.  Also thanks to Mike, Jose, and Brian for for donating (and lugging) their own equipment to the event as well as providing some great tips and pointers within their stations!

Thanks to Chris for lining up our lovely and patient models, and thanks to those models (Nicole, Amanda, Kelly and Gretchen not to mention anyone else who was brave enough to step in front of the camera) for putting up with all of the popping flashes and photo nerdiness.  Please remember to donate your shots to these models for their portfolio.  They provided their time for us at the workshop free of charge so the least we can do is provide them with some great images!  I will be in contact with you shortly on the best way to funnel these shots to the models.

Photos from the Meetup

Please remember to post some of your best shots to either (or both) the meetup photo page for this event or to our companion Flickr group if that's how you roll.  There's already some great images up there by Keith, Josh, Joel and Janet among others.  Check 'em out:

March 1st Meetup for Middle Creek Snow Geese

To completely switch gears, the other Mike has put together a trip up to Middle Creek Wildlife Management area on March 1st, to shoot the migratory birds.  If you've never seen the sea of birds up there, it's pretty amazing.  Check out the event and RSVP:

Additional March Meetup Ideas

Since we got the March meetup scheduled so early, I was wondering if there were any more opportunities or ideas for an additional meetup in March?  Shoot your ideas or suggestion to me via email or fire them up on the discussion board to be bandied about.

Keep shoo ting,

Brian E.
