This is THE most popular class we offer at SmarterPics. It is the class that takes a LOT of the confusion out of the whole concept of digital photography. If you want to get out of GREEN mode and want to learn to MAKE and not just TAKE great photos intentionally, this is your class! It is divided into four sections:
1. The basics of owning a DSLR: Understanding care/maintenance, lenses (what focal length means/does), jargon, and recommended accessories
2. Exposure: Mastering the Exposure Triad - ISO/Exposure/F-Stops. Understand how to work with the light meter and make corrections.
3. Knobs and Dials: What do all the knobs and buttons do and how and when to use them to impact image quality.
4. Composition: Once we have the basic technology down, we can now look at new ways of seeing things. This session will help you understand what some of the elements are that make a great photo. We do this section in the field.
We spend a good portion of the class walking around Old Town where we learn by doing and mini lectures/demos. You learn the most by doing. (There are foul weather options as well.)
The SmarterPics Website has more details that describes the curriculum. You can also signup on the web for the class as well as RSVP here. Feel free to talk to me or email me re. any questions. [masked]
