DSLR Lenses

Is it finally time to leave the kit lens and invest in a quality lens?  What do you need to know to make the right decisions on your next lens?

Why do people spend so much money for lenses? The quality of your lens will impact EVERY photo you take with it. They will also setup parameters for the perspective you can shoot.

The price can range from $200 to over $3000. Making the best decision that will meet your needs is important. A good lens will last for many years.

This class will help you understand what some of the major decision points are in making a purchase. Before you buy a lens, TAKE THIS CLASS! It will help you make a better decision and one you won’t regret later.

1. What exactly is focal length.
2. How do the different lens lengths impact my images
3. What is the “best” lens for people, landscapes, sports, flowers, etc…
4. Zoom vs Prime lens design
5. What is image stabilization / vibration reduction? Is it worth it?
6. What is a “fast” lens. Variable aperture vs. fixed aperture. How large of an aperture do you need? Pros/Cons

This is a SmarterPics class. Normal fee for this class is $30. With the meetup 25% discount it is only $22.50 payable at the time of class.
