Last October we did this with huge success! Take a look at the photo gallery for it to get an idea.
The goal is to have as many people as possible who enjoy being in front of a camera to act as models for us. They can be kids, spouses, friends, etc. I will try to get 2-3 experienced models that I know.
The shooting opportunity is to learn more about taking outdoor portraiture. As usual, I will offer a 15 minute mini-lesson on some basics. We will also talk about how to work with models and some of the dos and don'ts as well as how to coach someone you are photographing. The Turner Dodge house is a beautiful historic house with well manicured grounds.
Depending on how many models we get, we will set up shooting stations and allow groups to shoot at each station for 10-15 minutes and then rotate. That way models and photographers get a LOT of variety of experiences.
Bring any reflectors you want. We will not be working with strobes on this meetup. There should be lots of natural light.
Again, help us recruit some willing models. They will get a TON of really great, and some not so really great, photos out of the deal.
This is a completely FREE event.
