Dan Stieglitz presents The A.V.M. Club: Emerging video trends in time-indexed metadata

We have invited Dan Stieglitz to talk to our group about this exciting topic!

AGENDA

7:00 pm: meet, greet & eat

7:30 pm: main presentation

Followed by a healthy Q&A

TOPIC

Moving pictures ushered in the modern media age, but it wasn't long before synchronized-audio "talkies" became the dominant form of consumable media. Today we are sitting on the cusp of another dramatic shift in how media is delivered to us: with synchronized, time-indexed metadata streams. These "M" streams are emerging to accompany A/V streams and deliver informational and interactive content to us via first- and second-screen applications. This talk gives an overview of this technology, and its potential in shaping the emerging video landscape through new DAM and MAM tools.
