Developing Applications with Apache Cassandra

  • October 11, 2012 · 7:00 PM

Is my app a good fit for Apache Cassandra? Or is Cassandra a good fit for my app? These are the questions many developers are asking themselves taking the popularity of the new NoSQL database technologies out there on the market nowadays.

For our October LAPHP talk we invited DataStax and Christian Carollo (of GameFly) to give a high level overview of Apache Cassandra and various ways how you can use it in your applications.

We will have an active Q&A and member discussion afterward.

Great talk by Christian, gave a good Cassandra overview and a practical example how they use it at GameFly. Really liked some of the scalability and reliability features offered by Cassandra, definitely give it a closer look.
