Dogtoberfest 2012

Through DogtoberFEST, CARMAA promotes our goal of educating the public about the number of resources that are available for adopting a companion animal. DogtoberFEST is an outdoor festival and showcase for the many healthy and adoptable animals that are waiting for homes at over 100 rescues and shelters in the Western Pennsylvania region. And, our event also helps to bring animal rescues and shelters together for one day as a collective community of compassionate people, advocating every day for homeless animals. Working together, these organizations will educate our DogtoberFEST attendees on the benefits of adopting a pet instead of buying an animal through a newspaper ad or pet store. Come meet your new best friend at DogtoberFEST on October 6, 2012!

When my dogs and I have perused all the sights and sounds of Dogtoberfest, we plan on doing the Pittsburgh StepTrek. This year's StepTrek takes off from near the Dogtoberfest, and it covers several sets of Southside "vertical streets" or staircases.

Here's the info on where the StepTrek begins:
Check in at Southside Park. Free parking available in the UPMC employee lot.
