Ruby Study Group

Last week we wrapped up building our storefront app from Agile Web Development with Rails. This week there will be some time for questions and observations about what we learned from AWDWR. The rest of the meeting will be devoted to choosing our next book.

As usual we will try to reach a consensus about what to read next. If there is no consensus, we'll go with a straight vote of the people present at the meeting. Please bring copies of any books you want to propose - or at least have a way to access the table of contents and some sample content. If you would like to start your lobbying before the meeting, feel free to do so on our our Google group:

You may also use the Google group to keep up with the study group's other activities. Some of us are planning to work on our RideBum app at this weekend's Hackathon. And we are also planning weekend gatherings to work on the homework for Coursera's SaaS class which starts Friday July 13th.

Very cordial group. Their knowledge base was way above my pay level. Even though the meeting was dominated by discussion of what to do, I was swimming in very deep code water. Still they invited me back to see if I could gleam some knowledge.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
