Frankly I don't see a problem. I'm a Rails developer myself and one of the 
reasons why I joined this group is to exchange information related to Ruby 
on Rails, that includes job opportunities, projects, technical discussions, 
etc.

If we apply the same reasoning (no jobs ads) to the actual meetups, then 
talent seekers who make public announcements about job opportunities 
shouldn't be allowed to speak at meetups. Right?
