Tax Tea Party

We're part of the national Tax Revolt protest.

We call ours "Tea Party Under The Stars"

Wear a red shirt if you're not in costume.

April 15th 6pm-9pm !!! (Some of us will be there at 4:30pm)

Note; There is another rally scheduled for 12 noon, but many of us can not attend because we work during the day. Many from the other group will stick around for our event.

Therefore, we have schedule this event for early evening so those of us who work will have a chance to bring out the whole family to protest.

Plus, in the evening there is plenty of parking close by. During the day the business in the area take up most of the available parking.

Let us all urge our friends and family to attend this event.
It is vital that we do what we can to bring about change before it is to late.
What a shame it would be to do nothing and wish that we had.
    Be there !

Looking for a ride home from the Tea Party. I live by the Desert Breeze parks on Spring Mountain and Durango. Anyone live close to me that could provide a ride home? Ronnie

Thanks for joining us. Here is what you need to bring in the order of importance.

    1. Bring your self, wear a white or red top if not in costume.
    2. Bring friends. One is good 5 is great.
    3. Bring water & a snack (like an energy bar)
    4. Bring a sign. Best are three to four words that convey your feellings
Look at the latest flyer for ideas under files. I like "Stop Theft of Kids Money", "Stop Generation Theft", "Stop Fiscal Child Abuse"

Don't give up the fight. America depends on our vigilance as a people to prevent the fall of our system, our mores, our culture and our future. Let's do more for the 4th of July.

The count of people varied through out the evening. We estimate a total of 300 + people attended through out the event. High of the night was 200 + low was around 147. It was a great event and really all had a great time.

I wrote an article about the tax day TEA Party for TheVoiceMagazine.com. Here is how I closed the article: "I came away from this Tea Party honking my horn for the few die-hards that remained and filled with a feeling of national pride, a sense of fellowship and camaraderie with all those with whom I spoke and interviewed. To say it was uplifting, invigorating, and motivating is an understatement. I am amazed at the overwhelming support this movement has and the phenomenal diversity, and at the same time, the single-mindedness and sincerity of all those who share in this cause. We are ready and willing to move forward with this agenda until the government for the people, by the people, and of the people stands again in unity, “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Nicely done everyone. Amazing to get that many independent conservatives to band together for a few hours. We are not "joiners" and do not like to draw attention to ourselves, but the issue of saving our nation and our Constitution is overwhelming. MORE and soon. I'd like to see one in June right after school lets out and, of course, the main one on July 4th, 2009! God Bless America

I didn't get there until 7:00 pm and the meetup was still in full swing. Even though there were quite a few people that were there for several hours I am confident that they would have stayed even longer if the weather was a little warmer. All in all I was pleased with what was my first time to participate in a protest of any kind. I'm glad that I was there ! Thank you.

The group I met up with was in Sunset Park. I ended up with petitions for Ron Paul's bills to audit and eliminate the Fed - many signatures! I think the next time we plan something of this magnitude - there needs to be a way, and I'm not sure what that is at this precise moment, to have a bit more organization. We all need to know each other, at least casually, so that we can have a bit more direction and a better appearance of strength. Overall I was pleased to see so many like thinking individuals! We need to do this again - on a warm day - perhaps a weekend.

I would like to help organize the next one . . . this one was great, but I thought the location was bad. We ended up at the corner of Eastern & Sunset because of the traffic and parking problem at the post office. However, I thought that this was a great first meeting for all citizens who are upset about the way our country is being run into the ground by Obama, Pelosi and Reid, to name a few. I can't wait for the next event. We were talking about the million-man march, and how awesome it would be for us to do something like that.

I think July 4 would be a great date for a nationwide party. We need a holiday to alloow the taxpayers to get to a rally, after all, they're the ones who are working!!!!! We also need a NV specific TEA party planned for the weekend after the NV legislature presents their forthcoming State tax increases. How about a march down the strip. Now that will get national and international attention. Peacefull with LOTS of kids How many people attended? I'd say 2,000 at Sunset Park, but I can't put more than 200 in the box above.

What a great bunch of patriots. I spoke to many and was so pleased to find such wonderful, friendly people. Young and old. Republicans and Democrats. Many races and nationalities. A big cross section of spirited Americans represented.
