After Thanksgiving Feast... Hiking Pine Creek Canyon @ red rock

We'll meet at red rock casino, just next to the big water fountain, main entrance.
MILES: 3 miles round hike
HOURS: 2 to 3 hours
LEVEL: easy-moderate
ALTITUDE: 300 ft

This is mostly walking and some class rock scrambling, but not difficult to do. This trail goes side by side to the creek where you'll hear singing birds, so have your cameras ready for some pictures. I've seen cornish next to the creek. There is also the Wilson Homestead along the trail, still the foundation is visible to the naked eye. We might find seasonal waterfalls as we hike among the trail going up the mountain. It has rained the last week, so possibilities to find more water than the usual has it chances. I'll be posting some pictures from 2 summers ago. It is always suggested to bring snacks. Plenty of water. Entrance fee to the park is $7 per car. We could carpool and use my annual pass, that will save us a headache in finding parking and it saves us gas.

I feel bad I can't make it. Any suggestions on what type of shoes or boots to purchase? The movers lost the box with shoes, etc.

I've being using Shape-ups from Sketchers ever since I started hiking. So far haven't had problems. I think it's because my feet doesn't feel the ground.
