as much as possible
I've done a little Ruby, but not Rails. My interest has been piqued by all the people leaving Windows/.NET for *nix/Ruby/Rails.
An idea of what would be an ideal environment for coding Ruby. I'm ready to leave behind the bloated Windows environment and look forward to associating with developers who are more in touch with modern coding practices. I'm especially a big proponent of testing and TDD, and am intrigued by how the Ruby community seems to be years ahead of the .NET community.
John Hilts - I've been programming professionally since '91, asp.net '02, looking to get into ruby/rails ...
Pretty friendly group! I'm a .net guy and there was another .net guy there who shared some of the trade-offs btw asp.net & rails, and .net & ruby in general. Other .net folks should definitely feel welcome here. Definitely made some other friends too ... All in all a good experience!
