Help The Shade Tree (e-mail [masked] / call[masked] ext 105 if you have questions):
Many of the women who live at The Shade Tree are homeless because they lost their jobs. Others live there because they have been faced with traumatic life experiences such as domestic violence, trafficking, being kidnapped, or stalked. The Shade Tree exists to help women re-establish themselves; acting as a shoulder to lean on while the ladies cope and move towards self-sufficiency.
At The Shade Tree, the women are provided with interview and resume building skills, and bus passes to go to and from work and/or job interviews. They are also assisted by case managers to help them receive the necessary forms of identification to obtain work. The children living at this shelter are provided with backpacks, school supplies, uniforms, transportation to and from school, and they are enrolled into a school 1-2 days after arriving at there. For more information, visit www.theshadetree.org or even www.noahsanimalhouse.org. Noah's Animal House is where the animals of the women and children living at The Shade Tree stay.
Please help me and "The Life Changers" raise $6,500 for the homeless and abused women and children living at The Shade Tree by joining our "Walk of Hope" team or donating to our team goal. Last year our team raised $2,600. Can you help our team make a greater impact this year? The 2014 Walk of Hope is a 3.1 mile family fun walk and run. It will take place on Saturday, April 26. There will be food, entertainment, prizes, and pets are welcome as well. This year, the walk will be located at Craig Ranch Regional Park (628 W. Craig Road North Las Vegas, NV 89032). I hope that you can participate! Here is the individual registration form - http://www.theshadetree.org/pdfs/forms/woh2014/Individual%20Registration%20Form.pdf
