Introduction

I've been part of the poetry community of Las Vegas for over 10 years, most recently as a host and organizer of slam poetry competitions. After a year off from that, I'll be hosting slams for the 2008-2009 season.

(new) Would you like to be featured on LasVegasPoets.org?

I kinda already have been (?) I was voted for many of the "Las Vegas Poets Awards" a few years ago.

What changes would you like to see in your writing craft/talent with this group?

I really love seeing poets grow and expand their style, trying new things at least once. My favorite experiences with poetry have been watching other people.

What writing rituals/habits do you have, if any?

I write both poetry and fiction, but my best writing time is at night, right before I go to bed. I'm usually writing 3-4 hours a week right now.

What are your goals as a writer, if any?

Eventually I'd like to get a book deal and it would lead to other writing projects, but I try to keep everything in perspective.

How long have you called yourself a writer?

I think I started feeling like one in high school, but when I went to college and seeing what I could do with my writing, I started to actually call myself one. And when I got my first check from a freelance gig, that's when I REALLY felt like one.
