Tech Jam.

Sometimes you just have to get everyone together, and have a good jam session. Everyone from Long Beach Tech, and some Long Beach Tech companies are invited to come and have a Jam day.

It's good to get out of the house. It's even better to get out of your normal office every now and then.

The reason why Silicon Valley and Boston's' Route 128 works, is that people at surrounding companies get together regularly to share ideas and start a conversation. Together we have dialog, and together we advance ideas.

These ideas can continue to progress and endure, in the city and change it for the better. By jamming together, we can change the world.

Everyone will be jamming at WE Labs. You can setup your gear, jump on fast wifi, and work in a cubicle-less environment, with your peers. There is a $5 cost for use for the day, if you would need help covering this, Long Beach Tech can sponsor you, simply email me.

So come on out and Jam with us.

Permission slips gladly given to skeptical bosses by emailing me at [masked]

We are thinking of doing a Brown Bag sponsored lunch. What about a speaker? What would everyone like to hear?

It was good to have an escape (other location) to work at, but there was little interaction or organized socializing. Perhaps next time some coffee time together, or a round-robin moment where we all share a 45 second synopsis of what we are working on will help get us all unified and familiar with each other.

David, we do another event called "Breakfast with Benefits" which is exactly what you're describing, but a little more in depth. Groups are limited to 12, and each person has about 5 minutes to ask for advice on what they're working on. I will tell you from experience that the advice I've received has been spot on! I can add you to the signup list if you'd like.

Interesting approach, DW. I'd love to discuss. I've done breakfasts for several years but have found that 6 is the optimal number to make meaningful connections.
