One-to-One Conversations with Everybody

This is a social event where everybody within the group is guaranteed to meet and at least have a small conversation with everybody else.

The aim is to help fundamentally shy and socially anxious people, which also includes myself, to practice and become more confident with meeting new people in an environment that is relaxed and welcoming, which could possibly lead to new friendships and relationships.

The event will involve everybody having a series of timed one-to-one conversations with every other person in the group, of between two and six minutes depending on the number people in attendance, with a number of conversation starter questions, to help 'break the ice', or alternatively arbitrary questions of every person choice. After the conversations have finished, a group discussion where all members can express their opinions and experiences with meeting people will take place.

This will be jointly held with Shy London, so if you haven't been able to get a place here, please try with them if you are also a member of that group, or otherwise join them as an new member and RSVP at the same time.

ideally I would like this group to have as near an equal male-female share of attendees if possible.

I would encourage anybody that is interested, curious or have any general queries to please comment on this page and/or to me via my e-mail address - [masked] or my mobile number -[masked].

Please note: I would appreciate it very much for anybody who has signed up for this event but cannot make it on the day, to please let me know that you will not be able to attend, for the sake of courtesy.  Because of this, any no shows from my previous events will not be permitted to attend this particular event, in fairness to anybody who does want to attend.

About the location.

The Brady Arts Centre is in Hanbury Street close to Whitechapel tube station off of Whitechapel Road in East London.

If you are coming from Whitechapel Station, turn right and walk down to the third road on your right which is Vallance Road (after Court Street and Fulbourne Street).

Once in Vallance Road, walk down about 100 metres and you will see a brown 18-storey tower block (Pauline House) and some white coloured blocks of flats to it's right on the other side.

Hanbury Street is the pathway in between these blocks, not the main street that you might see first (Old Montague Street), walk past Pauline House and another block (Davenant House) and you will see the Brady Centre building.

If I am not at the main entrance, then I should be in the cafe area right behind it or in the Meeting Room itself.

The Meeting Room is to the right of the cafe area then right again through a door.

If you are interested or have any queries, please contact me either through e-mail - [masked] or my mobile number - 0771 9080295. Many thanks.

There wasn't a lot of people, but it was great to meet Peit, we had a good chat, and he really is a good host !

It was unfortunate that there were so many no shows this evening (only one other person attended out of a possible nine). I believe that this is an important and necessary type of event, and I will not allow this to curb my enthusiasm with hosting events, which not only help me, but everybody else who gets involved as well.

Great to meet you Stephane (Jack son), we had a very good and long chat about our SA issues. I hope to see you in other meets soon.

I want to try and get an even number of males and females for this event, so for the first six places, three men and three women, with the remaining place open for the first person on the waiting list.
