Architecting a Business - The Many Lean Canvases of Meshify

The Lean Canvas is a tool designed to give a 360 degree view of your business on a single piece of paper.   I will start out with an overview of the document briefly and how to use it.  I will then tell the history of Meshify through the use of our Lean canvases of the past.  The intent is that the audience may learn some lessons for your own journey through the many pivots, mistakes, successes, etc. that has taken us a couple years to flush out.

As a separate topic, I will also discuss our recent success with fund-raising in Houston and answer questions.  I tend to present in an open fashion and ask the audience to actively ask/answer questions, provide your own thoughts, and generally engage with each other.

The basic schedule is the same as usual: Networking from 6:30 - 7:00.  Content from 7:00 - 8:00.  Networking from 8:00 - 9:00.  We will have some food/drinks there.

Dane, I enjoyed hearing the Meshify story and listening to your insights. It was interesting to see the various iterations of the company through different pivots. I don’t think you touched too deeply on how you guys decided it was time to pivot. For anyone that’s interested, here is an interview with Ash Maurya who touches on that a little bit mainly through the idea of running experiments: http://spark59.wistia.com/medias/tq0ybqbi71

What do you all think of making a video of the presentations? I missed it and would love to have seen a recording...

I have thought about this. We throw these events together pretty quickly as we are all working on startups for our day job. We really need some interns! Do you you know anyone?

Thanks so much, the meeting was not @ all what I had anticipated, yet it was much better, as it was. Lots of gems and pearls of experience were passed on. It reminded me of the story of IBM, and how they evolved to meet many office needs, not just time clocks and adding machines, and how the successful railroad companies became transportation companies to grow. Thank you.

Great presentation! Dane seemed very genuine and open to talk about Meshify experiences. I really enjoyed seeing how their canvas evolved and how they were able to adapt and change up their game.

What's the parking situation like on Delano?

    1 · February 11, 2014

    • Dane W.

There is parking in a grass field behind the building and on the street. I have never had anyone complain about parking.
