Is the max-width property in CSS built for mobile first or is it min-width?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around it but an interesting topic, I really appreciate all your help today and getting my gears turning a little Steve, see you next time.

Thanks. Looks like to build for mobile first you want to use min-width. That make sense as you don't want to use resources to reduce the size when you could have started with the smaller properties first. Since mobile devices typically have less computing power, min-width is probably a better way to design.

Little question, so the ideaLAB... is it a place to use the equipment there, or a program with lesson plans, or a meetup of sorts with regulars? It said it was open year round, but is there anyone to work with? It sounded cool!

Seems like Cody said it has been for teens only but now there are going to do more adult classes. This is the schedule http://denverlibrary.... and it appears on Tuesdays from 3-5 there is an OpenLab where you might be able to find some help.

      All of the above, really!

It is a space intended for teens, and during the hours it is open there is someone from the library in there to work with/learn from (Cody, Friday-Monday... I am not sure who is there during the other times). They do offer classes & events that are limited to teens pretty regularly—this summer they did web bootcamps and I think a game jam of some sort.

More generally, however, I believe the open lab time is just that: open. Teens are able to use the software and various technologies as they wish, with as little or as much guidance from the librarian working that day (which they are all really cool and super helpful from my experience).

This meetup just borrows the ideaLab, which has created the first opportunity for adults to use the space. In September, the library will begin hosting open lab time for adults on Tuesdays after 6pm.

Feel free to send me a message directly though, and I can get you in touch with ideaLab staff to answer specific questions.

Good to meet you all today and I really enjoyed this meet up. Nice to surround myself around like minded individuals and meet other critical thinkers in the area. See you all next time.

    Hello All,
My name is Danny I've been working on a wordpress site: www.dannytijerina.com
I have been experimenting there. I have also been working on a local site from scratch that I have yet to try to put out on the internet.

What's the plan?! Should we have like a guided coding session or do some diving into a piece of web? I think I'll for real consider diving into a piece for twenty. Like CSS and preprocessors such as LESS or SASS. Or maybe a twenty on the DOM, what it is, and how one can use it consciously.

I thought I wasn't going to make it today, but I'm pretty sure I can actually make it. So let's discuss some of these ideas while we're meeting. It'll involve the random showers.

There's tons of simple ideas we could start with. HTML5 Basics, CSS styling basics, Twitter Bootstrap Basics, Intro to jQuery... etc. I guess it'd be good to guage where the majority of attendees are at in their newfound coding experience. Some might be stuck on HTML, some might be fighting CSS battles. Maybe we should add a Poll to help find out?

Holy crap, I can't wait to get out of my house and to the DPL. My new inlaws asked me to redo the layout for their "4 page or so" Knights of Columbus newsletter; 12 pages later they added "reprogramming" their website because, "it's too fancy and (I) know about that kinda' thing."
    I need to decompress.
