So this image came to mind, its mid-50s, the cold war is hot hot hot, Shawn's mother, in San Diego, with a stern look, arms crossed, one hand holding an elongated wooden spoon at the ready, toe is tapping in impatience, little shawn is brushing his teeth, mom makes sure it after every meal, dental floss to boot, them pearly white shinning after every meal, you bet! One cavity report from the dentist, and the wooden spoon goes into action, alrighty. You bet!! Sure, culture has a lot to do with it, and Im sure the poliboro pushed allot more sex, for 10 baby heroes of the Soviet Union, than teeth cleaning and perfect teeth, but still .....

Beware the logical fallacy, Derrick. Diet has an enormous influence on tooth decay as well. The question is whether compulsory flouride consumption is ethical. A secondary question would be whether or not flouride provides a benefit or a detriment. Based on available evidence, individuals should be able to make that choice and not be forced to consume it as a one-size-fits-all policy.

Very true, David, and I'll add that fluoride isn't a nutrient on the elemental table of elements. It is a cousin of chlorine, and is actually fluorine gas. People don't get cavities from a fluoride deficiency. They get them from germs in the mouth. That is why small tribes only recently discovered have no cavities until they adopt a Western diet. They catch the germs and the rich diet makes it all worse.

Bottle water has levels of flouride in it also that are higher than naturally occuring. Watch "The Great Culling" on youtube to find out more about this issue in addition to what you may learn at the meet up.

Justus, Dr. Kennedy has a testing kit that he can test any bottled or tap water to tell you what fluoride is in it. I don't know if he'll have it with him tonight, but ask him about it. The only way to know for sure if bottled water is free of fluoride is to buy distilled water, which I purchase a 5 gallon bottle each month from Sierra Springs. Other companies carry distilled bottled water, too, you know, the kind one uses in irons. It is free of everything but H20.

Been to Russia, teeth look terrible, in the US, teeth look better. Im sure over dose is possible, and statistical harm can always be proved, but on general view, its looks like fluoride has done some good, but what do I know. So when do you all talk politics over supper? Would rather hear about high dental doctor bills, and malpractice litigation lotto game containment.

San Diego just recently started fluoridating the water. Derrick, based on your logic we should all have nasty looking teeth.

I guess he doesn't realize that the form of flouride that they dump by truckload into the water supply will eat through concrete and has to be handled with Hazmat suits. Seems legit.
