Robert's Rules & Advocacy Training

Gale Morgan delivers two highly useful trainings for libertarians in Fresno.

  • Roberts’ Rules of Order Training
  • Advocacy Training

Robert’s Rules of Order Training will show you why and how these venerable guidelines work for any kind of meeting where members and representatives deliberate and decide an organization’s operation. Robert’s Rules ensure that every stakeholder’s concerns are heard, and that all ensuing decisions are recorded for future reference. They also give meetings a common structure that helps attendees know what to expect and how to interact effectively.

Advocacy Training will show you how to prepare to bring your perspective to elected officials. Knowing how to focus a topic and target it to an elected representative can ensure that your appeal won’t be dismissed as irrelevant. With as much government intrusion as there is - even locally - knowing how to get your elected officials to listen to you respectfully can make a difference in how your local government responds to your liberty-focused perspective.

$10 donation requested.

Gale Morgan is currently the Commissioner for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency and is a director on the Sacramento Resident Advisory Board, a not for profit corporation delivering services to the residents of public housing, and is also the current Northern Vice-Chair of the Libertarian Party of California. He has been trained in advocacy and in Robert’s Rules, has applied them often in his career as Commissioner and Board Member, and has conducted training many times. His most recent advocacy training was at the Libertarian Party of California’s 2013 convention in Sacramento, which prepared more than two dozen trainees to visit our elected representatives’ offices at the state Capitol and present our Party’s views on issues.

Both events will be Saturday, June 22nd, 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Perkos Restaurant on South Clovis Avenue in Fresno. Be sure to register so we'll know how many people to prepare for!

Thank you Gale Morgan and Beau Cain for caring enough about Fresno Libertarians to visit Fresno and host a get-to-gether. I only wish that you would have worked with us local members so that we might have contact libertarians for a better attended meeting at hopefully a more central location.
Even though I am not a fan of Robert's Rules, Gayle gave some very interesting and informative information.

Today's the big day! Gale Morgan and I will be at Perko's Restaurant before 1 p.m. to set up the space for your Libertarian Leadership Training, and we're eager to meet our liberty-loving colleagues in California's South Central Valley!

You can still sign up or just show up. Learn how to operate effectively in an organization's meetings, and how to focus your issues to get the best response from your locally elected representatives. Also, get some helpful insight on how to find appointed offices you can apply for that give you (or your favorite Libertarian candidate) the extra "in" needed for election to a city council.
