For those that would like to celebrate Thanksgiving with others, Melissa from Single Volunteers of Austin is hosting her annual Thanksgiving dinner at her house. Melissa has extended her offer to anyone in our group that would like to celebrate with friends to join her.
Melissa prepares a ham and turkey, cornbread dressing and gravy and a couple of other things and everyone brings either a dish to share (their favorite thanksgiving food), or drinks, or desserts. Melissa never know until the last minute how many people will come -- sometimes it's 10, sometimes, it's 50, but it is always a fun way to spend Thanksgiving. Melissa has held Thanksgiving dinner since 1973, so this makes year 39. Show up at Melissa's in South Austin anywhere from 11:00 until 1pm if you want to hang out and cook or set up tables, etc. We TRY our best to eat at 1:00. There will be football available if you are interested. If the weather is cooperative, we will eat outside, if not, we'll cram inside my little house.
If you would like to join Melissa, please send me an e-mail at [masked] and tell her what you would like to bring. As the responses progress, she can update you on what foods are being brought so you can decide what you want to bring. Please be sure to ask for directions. She lives off of Slaughter.
If you know ANYONE -- married, single, families, people on the street -- who would like to come, or you can convince to come, you do not need to asl, just tell Melissa how many are coming with you, so she'll know whether to get one turkey or two.
Look forward to seeing you!
