What is your favorite distribution of linux?

Most used are Ubuntu, Mint, and Debian. I haven't worked with enough to pick a favorite just yet.

Do you currently use linux?

Yes, but mostly just for programming. I dual-boot Windows and Mint and have Ubuntu on an old desktop.

What appeals to you most about Open Source Software?

The community and getting involved. I'd love to be able to work on a project or piece of code that eventually gets integrated into a Linux distro.

Linux offers a robust, fun computing enviroment, how can we help you make better use of it?

Teach me to customize every inch of it and how to really tear it apart and then put it back together.

Introduction

I'm a CS graduate student and have spent some time with Linux but would love to really dive into the subject matter and think this group is just the thing to facilitate that.
