Perl 5.10 Released Today

From: Jim K.
Sent on: Tuesday, December 18, 2007 10:57 PM
Today, December 18, was Perl's 20th birthday -- and the birth day of
a new Perl.

Perl 5.10 was released today and began to make its way to CPAN
mirrors at around 4 pm ET.

I've so far successfully built it on Darwin and on Debian and Ubuntu
Linux; can we get some tests on other Linuxes and other OSes as well?

Here's one way to get the source from a CPAN mirror and build it:

wget http://cpan.pair....
tar xzvf perl-5.10.0.tar.gz
cd perl[masked]
sh Configure -de
make test
make install
