Membership requires that you participate. That means you attend meetups on a semi-regular basis (approx. 50% of the time). There is no point to signing up and then never attending which happens about 75% of the time. We are a great group and have amazing discussions. We love to meet new people - but to meet you, you have to attend!! If you are too busy, know you won't make attending a priority, or just prefer a group to follow along online with - we are not for you!!! We almost always meet on one of the last two Sundays of the month at 4 pm. Sorry for the slight rant, but I just finished deleting 15 people who joined and never attended. Normally, if you join and I haven't met you within the first 4 months of your membership, you are automatically removed. Just a heads up.
And really, what makes our group special is that we create a smaller, more intimate in-home atmosphere. I've had so many lovely members join because other groups got too huge (200+ members) and they never saw the same face twice. That's NOT who we are.
We're a group of smart women who meet once or twice a month to discuss our selected book. We generally meet at a member's home and enjoy great treats and a glass or two of wine. We do actually discuss the book in a very open, friendly environment and have a dedicated time for socializing. Outside of the book meetups, we have several other activites such as author signings/lectures, movie nights, dinners, and anything else our members are into at the time. Members must be 21+ and remain active since membership is limited. Our members are spread around Atlanta - with meetups concentrated around the Brookhaven/Chamblee/Dunwoody areas. If this sounds like a group you'd be interested in, join us!
If you'd like to follow along with us online, please see our blog at http://atlantaladylitwits.wordpress.com.
Also, we are a very active group! We have at least 10-15 members at each meetup and we love to meet new people and hear new ideas. In addition to normal discussions, we regularly meet for movie showings and have mini-discussions over dinner. We'd love to have you!
