NJ to CA: Springsteen in The OC!

Wear a name tag for other Joiseyans to find you! Wear your favorite SPRINGSTEEN tee shirt or school colors! Meet at 12noon and then hang out for the second show!

Ensure you RSVP and arrive early to sag a seat.

Background: I met JOSH when he was a teenager in Bruce Springsteen's home town - He and Bruuuce went to Freehold BORO in 07728 and I went to FTHS - the TOWNSHIP (colors blue and gold!). First time I saw Josh on stage was during Pirates of Penzance with my older sis when they were in 8th grade. First time I saw Bruce was in Asbury Park when I was visiting the Joisey Shaw after moving to SoCaLifornia.

(Memory): We were early to the venue and didn't know it was him on the next stool. It was a Sunday, CATS were playing on stage and I was playing outside with a group of guys from Bayone, posing for my camera. Now this was back in the film ages, so imagine my frustration when I re-entered the Stone Pony just in time to see bras flying on stage and CATS singer closing out with, "And thank you, Mr. Bruce Springsteen!"

(memory, con't) The second and last time I saw him LIVE was at the Amnesty International Concert. TRACY CHAPMAN, too! Nothing can top the feeling of start THE WAVE. It was the one thing I remember doing with my exhusband as a TEAM and all of that fits in nicely with an awesome performance by Bruuuuce! (That is when I realized if you are NOT a big fan you might not catch that the crowd is saying Bruce and not Boo, LOL).

I relive these moments and trips to cool places in Freehold like Main Street, the Pond, the Pits, The Sod Field, Turkey Swamp, even my first kiss when I see Josh and take the stage. To quote LB/OC/LA musician Steve Desmond, "When I close my eyes and listen, I really can't tell the difference between them and Bruce's E Street Band.

Now that y'all know my pretty boring SPRINGSTEEN story (oh - St. Lima is where I made my Holy Communion and 3M Video plant he sang to keep open years ago was my employer. Funded my trip to SoCaL in fact! LOL) COME OUT AND SHARE YOUR JERSEY ROOTS! YOUR STORY OF BRUCE!
