It's time to find the fireflies... wade in the creek... create a hidden circle under the full moon and canopy of leaves. This is an open and public Full Moon Rite not to miss. Please Read the Entire Meetup Description and PRINT the map, and bring with you! It does involve a drive to an out-of-the-way open space, a 500 ft walk through tall grass and cottonwood trees, down into the wide and sandy creek bed of Plum Creek. Be prepared to get a little wet, deal with some mosquitoes, and get some sand in your shoes, but I guarantee it's worth it!
Planning the ritual will begin at 6pm, so if you feel called to co-create the ceremony please do so - no experience required. If you are not wanting to help plan or lead the ritual, please do not arrive until 7:30 pm to give our planners uninterrupted time to plan.
Map is here: http://goo.gl/maps/ydpzs Park on the side of the road just past the bridge. We'll have ribbons tied on the fence where the path begins. When you arrive, leave your car and walk along the path to the clearing. Do not linger at the parking area along the road so as not to interfere with traffic or bother the locals. From the clearing, at 7:45 we'll walk down together to the creek. The ritual will start promptly at 8:00pm in the creek, so if you arrive after 7:45 you will have to find us on your own.
Bring a sack or backpack with a towel to dry your feet and possibly a change of shoes/sandals, mosquito repellent (there are some good natural ones to try), a flashlight or lantern, and layers of clothing for any possible weather. Drums or rattles are welcome. Due to the environment, we do not recommend this for very young children.
Volunteers needed to bring cakes and wine/ale/mead, electric tiki torches or extra lanterns. Make a note in your RSVP if you can bring any of these or will be there to plan the ritual at 6. Suggested Donation $5 is appreciated but not required.
