Meetup Description:

Think you know how to recycle? Think again. Chances are a lot of stuff you put in that blue bin goes to the dump.

Join us and learn from Russell Klein with the D.C. Office of Recycling on how to consume less, recycle effectively... and much more. Time for questions and networking is provided afterward.

During the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" workshop, Russell will show you how to:

-rethink behaviors that negatively affect the environment
-reduce the amount of waste produced
-reuse what is still useful
-recycle effectively and as much as possible

Specific topics will also include:

-How recycling and consumption relate to carbon emissions & climate change
-Residential recycling
-Starting a recycling program in your office
-Holiday recycling tips
-Managing hazardous waste

This workshop is especially relevant considering the District's newly expanded recycling program, which for the first time allows residents to recycle items like plastic grocery bags, milk cartons and even aerosol cans.

Please join us... and bring your friends, colleagues and questions!
