Forward on Climate: Bay Area Rally

NEWS: Gather with the Sierra Club friends and supporters from multiple chapters shortly before the rally (including Loma Prieta, SF Bay, and Motherlode). WEAR GREEN clothes or jackets if you can. We'll have Sierra Club banners, signs, and buttons, but bring extras if you have them!

We will meet at 12:30 pm at the Vaillancourt Fountain on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, across the street from the Ferry Building. At 1pm, we'll walk the short distance to One Market Plaza for the rally.

Join us at One Market Plaza in San Francisco as we rally locally in support of a national day of action calling for a rejection of the dirty Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline, and urgent action on climate change.

On Sunday, February 17, thousands of Americans will head to Washington, D.C. to make Forward on Climate the largest climate rally in history. If you can't be in DC, join local members of the Sierra Club, 350 Bay Area, NRDC, Greenpeace, and more at this historic event to make your voice heard and help President Obama start his second term with strong climate action.

At One Market Plaza in San Francisco, we will encircle the U.S. Department of State and demand that they reject the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. To RSVP and for more information see www.350BayArea.org

President Obama has the power to lead an effort on the scale and with the urgency necessary to phase out carbon-intensive fossil fuels and fire up energy efficiency and clean, renewable energy sources.

The way Forward on Climate is clear: the Administration must start cutting carbon from today’s biggest polluters—power plants—and stop the Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline NOW to avoid adding more carbon pollution to our air and increasing global warming.

The President needs to hear from you that this is one of your top priorities! Join us in San Francisco, to ask President Obama to Move Forward on Climate!
