Earth Day Celebration, Exhibits, Social & Talk - Climate Change & Science Denial

Join us for a very special evening one week before Earth Day 2013!

We'll be featuring several local "Earth Friendly" businesses hosting information tables- see below.

Our guest speaker is Dr. Minda Berbeco, PhD, Programs and Policy Director of the National Center for Science Education.

Climate Change and Science Denial:

Though the scientific consensus around climate change is clear, the public remains skeptical making it challenging for educators to teach well-established, peer-reviewed science to their students.

Worse yet, “Academic Freedom” Bills are being introduced on the state-level to undermine quality science education under the guise of “critical thinking”.  Find out more what you can do to help support stronger science education in the U.S.

6:30 pm - Social time, light dinner and time to check out information tables that can change your life
7:00 pm - 8 pm Presentation and Q&A
8 pm - 8:30 pm - Additional time to check out information and meet reps at information tables.

Admission is free, but a donation at the door is requested to help us defray costs.

RSVP's are strongly encouraged to help us better plan for seating and snacks too.  We look forward to seeing you!

Neal’s Yard Remedies (organic health and beauty)

Lyngso Garden Materials - sustainable home projects

Can't drive 40 miles round trip. So is there a webcast for those reducing our carbon footprint?
