Obama Keystone XL Pipeline Peaceful Protest - Palo Alto

UPDATE as of 6/6 10 am.

President Obama is now scheduled to land at Moffett Field at 6 pm and appear at the Palo Alto Fundraiser at 7 pm.

If you can't join the rally until 5:30 or 6 pm, that will still be plenty of time to be there before the President arrives!

REVISED Rally time is now 4:30 to 7:30 pm.

The Meeting point will be at 700 University Ave. at Middlefield Road.

President Obama is coming back into California on June 6th for a fundraiser in Palo Alto. The Sierra Club is partnering with 350.org, 350 Silicon Valley, CREDO Action, Friends of the Earth, the Center for Biological Diversity and other groups to tell President Obama to say NO to the Keystone XL Pipeline!

We need to keep the pressure on and make this a big event. Bring your friends, your neighbors and some signs! (Idea! Hold a sign making party in your home or school to make this a colorful, well covered national event!)

Please RSVP on this page to help us identify Sierra Club members planning to attend, and also at this link to get updates on this peaceful, lawful protest rally: http://www.350siliconvalley.org/obama_kxl_protest.

The location is accessible by Caltrain at the Palo Alto Downtown station.  Route is walking down University Ave. so will be very visible!  We encourage everyone to carry a sign and/or chant while walking from Caltrain station to starting point.  Parking in the neighborhood will be very limited, so we encourage people to take Caltrain, bus, walk, or carpool.

Excellent afternoon, but it would have been better if more people had been at the end of Forrest that he drove into. I got there a bit late, so it took me awhile to realize that the two main groups of protesters were at the wrong location to see Obama come in. I got down to where it made sense to be just in time to see his motorcade turn on to Forrest. Beautiful day to walk the well to do section of Palo Alto.
