Historic Los Altos Bike Tour 2013

Hop on your bike and see Los Altos from a whole new point of view, touring historical points of interest and hearing the story of Los Altos.

We will meet at the History Museum, bike 8 miles around town to see over two dozen of the best historic sites and homes, hear some stories and finish back at the History Museum for lunch. It will be similar to last year’s ride so you know it will be fun – and a great family friendly way to spend a Saturday morning. We expect to take about 2 hours on the ride. Registration is limited so don’t wait to sign up.

Date: Sept. 28.
Fee: $20 per person, kids under 18 free. Proceeds benefit GreenTown Los Altos and the Los Altos History Museum.

Must Pre-register on Eventbrite:
https://historicbiketour2013.eventbrite.com

Meet at: The Los Altos History Museum, 51 S. San Antonio Road, Los Altos – depart 9:30am.

Bike Route: Start at the J. Gilbert Smith House/History Museum Courtyard. Travel back in time to the old Farnsworth Farms house, the Winchester-Merriman house and the Paul Shoup house, and along the way see our modern “history-in-the-making” LEED platinum Packard Foundation Building, now one year old, and find out if it truly is “net-zero.” We end back at the History Museum Courtyard for drinks, sandwiches, snacks and dessert.

Details: Please bring your own water for the ride. Restroom facilities will be available at the Museum and at about the half-way point. At least one bike mechanic will be on duty for the ride. A signed waiver of liability is required for this event.

I have to work and can't attend, but I just moved to Los Altos and would love to trace your route. Got a map?

Michael, some other folks couldn't make it so I am considering a ride "just for fun." Let me know if you are interested.

It wouldn't be the same w/o the stories.
