*** Limited to 20 people (waitlist available). Please do not RSVP unless you are sure to attend ***

Prospective and current Sierra Club members are invited to this Hike at Russian Ridge Open Space Preserve, on the Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) near Page Mill / Alpine Road intersection. Get to know the Sierra Club , Loma Prieta Chapter and the Peninsula Regional Group. No pets allowed.

HIKE DETAILS:  6 miles round-trip (in ~ 3 hours). This is a moderate hike at an easy pace (about 2 MPH) that starts with a slight incline and no shade. The loop takes us west for some beautiful views of the ocean (when it's clear), but ends with an exposed uphill climb.  Raptors are often out, too, for those of you who like bird-watching!

WHAT TO BRING: Plenty of water, snacks, lunch, a hat, sunglasses, sun block, your love of nature, and a willingness to hike in a group!

START TIME: We will meet at 10:00 AM at the parking lot. Arrive early, as parking is limited and we will leave on time!  There is a no parking fee.

NO-HOST CAR POOL LOCATIONS:  Be Cool, Car Pool

• 9:00 AM at Los Gatos Municipal Parking Lot (Highway 9 between University Ave & Santa Cruz Ave, behind Chase bank). If you end up on Santa Cruz Ave, Chase bank, Starbucks or Safeway, look out for driveways leading to the back of those places, which connect to the Municipal Parking lot.

9:15 AM at Page Mill Park 'N Ride Lot:  Intersection of Page Mill and Arastradero in Palo Alto. From 280 travelling North exit onto Page Mill Road west (Los Altos Hills) in Palo Alto, get in left lane of exit ramp, make a left on Page Mill, go under Freeway and turn left at stop sign (Arastradero). From 280 travelling South, go straight at stop sign at the end of the exit ramp. The lot is next to the freeway at corner of Page Mill and Arastradero.

NOTE:  Limited to 20 people (waitlist available). Please do not RSVP unless you are sure to attend. This hike is intended for prospective and current Sierra Club Members. The public may attend our events for a limited period of time before joining the club.

HIKE LEADERS:  Linda Barbosa, (408)[masked] and Lise Strom,[masked]

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's
peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you,
and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off
         like autumn leaves.

Sorry for the late notice. We've walked this walk often, and it's a beautiful hike, But Susan is home sick and we won't be able to join in this time. So I freed up 2 spots and I hope someone will fill them.
