Kicking the Plastic Habit

The average American generates about 100 pounds of plastic waste per year — but not our speaker, Beth Terry, author of “Plastic Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too."

Come hear how we all end up bringing home plastic that we never intended to acquire and learn how each of us can have a major impact on reducing plastic waste. By reducing waste we can help to protect our waterways, oceans and wildlife. Will include a brief presentation about plastics collection, recycling and “bio plastics” by Teresa Montgomery of Mission Trail Waste Systems.

Sponsored by GreenTown Los Altos.

A great presentation by Beth Terry. Lots of useful tips even for people like me who aren't quite so committed. She is down to 2 pounds of plastic waste per year!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
