DAYHIKERS: Mt Diablo, approx 15 mi; 3300 ft elev gain

Meet at Macedo Ranch Trailhead, 8:45ish am. Directions to trailhead: From Hwy 680, take Diablo Rd exit (big brown sign "Mt Diablo State Park"); left at Green Valley Rd; stay on Green Valley Rd until reach trailhead parking. There is a fee for the day, $6/car.  http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=517

From the Macedo Ranch trailhead, we'll hike up the fire road to Summit Trail to tap the top of Mt Diablo.  After lunch, hike back via Pine Creek Trail.  Bring food and liquids for the day.  Must call leader if you've not hiked with the Dayhikers before now. Sierra Club asks you to sign their usual liability waiver which leaders will bring to trailhead.

    What a wonderful group! Thank you all for attending. Just a note and I'll make sure and change the write-up for the next time, BUT, the elevation gain total was 4000 ft. Little difference:-) I have photos to post, as well. Thanks to Joerg for his!
