Pete Seeger! Join a Communal Celebration, Remembrance, Sing-along and Pot Luck

Join us for a very special, joyful family-friendly evening on Monday, March 17th, as we celebrate and honor the legacy of a truly great American and caring environmentalist, Pete Seeger!

We'll celebrate his life with a selection of video shorts of Pete Seeger, both speaking and singing. We'll also have plenty of chances for you to join in too and we'll experience his "Power of Song" with familiar and easy-to-sing songs, with lyrics up on our movie screen, and be led in singing by our very own Marianna Raymond along with Shawn Britton on ukulele. Pete loved singing with kids, so bring your kids!

The evening will start at 6:30 pm with a potluck dinner - bring something to share and let's share a light meal together. Videos and music will begin at 7 pm.  The event is free, but donations at the door are gratefully accepted to stretch our limited dollars.

This event is very appropriate for all ages including children. Let's keep Pete's memory alive in our hearts, and inspire ourselves and the generations to come!

This felt quite different from a typical Sierra Club meeting, but it was a delightful diversion from the norm! Pete Seeger was an American icon, and his music is terrific even decades later.

Glad to hear the positive comments. Just FYI, Little Boxes was written by Malvina Reynolds and What Did You Learn in School Today? was by Tom Paxton. It was great hearing Pete sing these terrific songs with such good messages.

I had so much fun singing with you all. I hope we can all keep Pete Seeger's spirit alive through the unbeatable combo of joyous music and activism. A simple postcard or call to a public official can be very powerful.
