DAY HIKE: Sunol Regional Park, 3C (~14 miles, 3200' elev gain)

Join us for a full day hike of approximately 14 miles in Sunol Regional Wilderness.

We'll start from Park Headquarters, head up Flag Hill, then out to the Maguire Peaks; tap Eagle View Summit; and return via Indian Joe Creek Trail. Lunch somewhere along the way and bring liquids for the day.  

Steady rain cancels.

CARPOOL: 8:30am, Mission Blvd & Hwy 680 Park-and-Ride (most northern exit off Hwy 680), across from McDonalds;  Google Maps 

HIKE START TIME:  9:00am, Sunol Park Headquarters/Visitor Center (first parking lot on left as you enter Sunol).  Information about the park & trail maps.

    Hi Kat: I recommend that you try a shorter hikes with the Black Mountain Group first and build up to our longer hikes after you are comfortable doing 10-12 mile on a regular basis.

    One of the reasons for this is that it is not uncommon for a hike estimated at 13-14 miles to run 15.5 miles. Cheers,

    Hi, I'm interested in doing this hike but I've never done a day hike before and I'm not sure if I'm physically prepared. Since you all are experienced, can you let me know what you think?

    I usually hike once a week on average 6-7 miles in about 3 hours. The most I've done is 9 miles. I don't have any health problems and at times I can be slow but can keep going. Thanks!
