Wednesday, June 18 – “How We Can Solve California’s Water Crisis.”

Newsha Ajami, director of urban water policy at Stanford University’s Water in the West program, will describe California’s complex and often controversial water system, and she’ll explain how we need to rethink how it is managed in order to save money and energy and be less vulnerable to droughts. For example, new technology will soon make it possible to reuse water in place instead of using energy to pipe it long distances. Eventually, instead of trying to get rid of wastewater, we will think of it as a resource that augments supply while producing energy.

Yes, there is parking both on street and in a lot. The location is the Burlingame public library. It is also walking distance from Cal Train.

Is there a parking lot for this location or street parking?

I can contribute some ideas about alliances, for example with EcoFarm, the Permaculture movement, and a researcher in halophyte agriculture; and studies to do, such as another sort through Google's energy team's July 2011 study of the decarbonization of energy, to pull out the water impacts of their forecasts.
