This MeetUp group thing works great. We had a very good hike this morning along the new Ravenwood Ponds at Dumbarton Bridge. A docent from the Don Edwards Wildlife refuge led the walk and was really informative - and brought along a great viewing scope too. We ended up at a viewing platform that was among a ton of birds - some resident and some migrating thru. We even saw several ibis and even plover - I think the plover, while not endangered, is a "threatened" species with loss of habitat. It was a lovely day! Next time, we should plan to go for lunch together after this hike- which a couple of us did. We should do this walk again when the tide is low.
