Picnic In Primrose Hill

Hi everyone, we've done this a few times and it's always been a really great day. At this point in time the forecast for the 13th of July is looking quite promising, and hopefully it will remain that way.

The plan would be to meet at Camden Town tube station around 14.00 and head on into the park where we would eat, drink, throw frisbees, climb trees, perform egg and spoon races etc (I make no guarantees about the last three activities).

Primrose Hill is an extension of Regent's Park and is a good location. It's central, has good conveniences (toilets etc) and nearby shops.

In terms of practicalities, if you want to eat and drink, please bring one or two things and then happily share (or not) with other members of the group. There is a Tesco Metro very close to where we will be sitting, so you can buy food on arrival if that is easier. I will bring some disposable cups, plates, knives and forks. I would also recommend that you bring a blanket to sit on.

The meeting point is Camden Town tube station at 14.00. For latecomers, the general location we will be situated in the park is at the south side of the park (off Prince Albert Road, which runs between Primrose Hill and Regent's Park). The exact location is marked on this map:

There is no finishing time to the event. We will stay as long as we are enjoying ourselves, and if people want we can move on to a bar etc afterwards (on the last two occasions, the final stragglers have headed home around 3am).

I'll give out my number the day before to everyone who's signed up. If you try to phone me and can't get through immediately, please understand I may be receiving a lot of calls.

Well, we left the park just after 10pm; a few a partying in Soho, the rest have headed home. Great afternoon, thanks Max (again!) for organising this.

Hey everyone. We'll be at St John's Wood at about 2pm instead of Camden. If you need to contact me[masked]

If aiming to get to Camden Town via NORTHERN line: Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July, no service between East Finchley, Golders Green and Stockwell, via both Bank and Charing Cross. Replacement buses operate.
(from eg. Victoria line to Euston or other nearby stations)

I've got something else on, but hoping to make it around 5ush, with the weather forecast predicting sun and high 20s I guess people will still be around!

Take a phone number (Max normally sends it out to those rsvp'd just a day or two before the event). Also having online access to this page/comments helps on the day when you're out, so you can see any updates that people /might/ post - or you can ask on here (having a phone number's most reliable way though). Sounds like you'll be there for/towards the end of the picnic though, note that some stayed out all night too on one of the earlier ones so it could still be worth coming

Why not suggest one for when you _can_ make it? preferably not right next to another big meetup like the usual pub social, as you'll lose out as many aren't ready to come to both so soon after another.

Maybe, or perhaps I'll meet you all later, like last time. Would have liked the walk too, but a bit early & opposite side of town to me!
