Hi everyone, after three successful picnics so far and with the summer drawing to a close, let's have one final picnic, this time in the new location of Hyde Park.
The plan would be to meet at Queensway tube station around 13.00 and head on into the park where we would eat, drink, kick balls, climb trees, perform egg and spoon races etc (I make no guarantees about the last three activities).
Hyde Park needs no introduction really, being the most famous and most central of the royal parks. It's easy to get to, has good conveniences (toilets etc) and nearby shops.
In terms of practicalities, if you want to eat and drink, please bring one or two things and then happily share (or not) with other members of the group. There will be shops not far from where we will be sitting, so you can buy food on arrival if that is easier. I will bring some disposable cups, plates, knives and forks. I would also recommend that you bring a blanket to sit on.
The meeting point is Queensway tube station at 13.00. For latecomers, the general location we will be situated in the park is in the centre of the Kensington Gardens part of the park. The exact location is marked on this map:
There is no finishing time to the event. We will stay as long as we are enjoying ourselves, and if people want we can move on to a bar etc afterwards (this is normally the case and we will be very close to Soho if we wish to wander in later on).
I'll give out my number the day before to everyone who's signed up. If you try to phone me and can't get through immediately, please understand I may be receiving a lot of calls.
