Hi everyone. Having only organised one picnic so far this year, I thought it would be good to get another one in, especially seeing as the weather is so good (touch wood).
The plan would be to meet at Great Portland Street tube station around 13.00 and head on into the park where we would eat, drink, throw frisbees, climb trees, perform egg and spoon races etc (I make no guarantees about the last three activities).
Regent's Park is a good location. It's central, has good conveniences (toilets etc) and nearby shops.
In terms of practicalities, if you want to eat and drink, please bring one or two things and then happily share (or not) with other members of the group. There is a Tesco Metro very close to where we will be sitting, so you can buy food on arrival if that is easier. I will bring some disposable cups, plates, knives and forks. I would also recommend that you bring a blanket to sit on.
The meeting point is Great Portland Street tube station at 13.00. For latecomers, the general location we will be situated in the park is marked on this map:
The closest reference point in the park is the Cow and Coffee Bean Cafe.
There is no finishing time to the event. We will stay as long as we are enjoying ourselves, and if people want we can move on to a bar etc afterwards.
I'll give out my number the day before to everyone who's signed up
