: Wednesday, November 17,[masked]:00 PMWhere
: The Old Vic
The Cut, SE1 8NB
+44 [masked] (box office)
This play was written by the reknowned playright Noel Coward and was so controversial when first released that it was banned for many years.
Reviews have been very strong and some people have waited 10yrs to see it, so take the opportunity (on until November 27th) to see what the fuss is about! Its a play about bisexuality and polyamory with three main characters in a love triangle! Its a dark romantic comedy and, reports say, very funny. Set around 1930s bohemian Paris all the way to Manhattan. Its light years above Bison (the last play a few of our group went to see) and much more popular.
Its on at the Old Vic, www.oldvictheatre.com. The play starts at 7.30pm, so to give us time to arrive and congregate, we'll meet around 7pm at the theatre - I vote to meet around the Box Office unless you've got a better idea (there is a pub over the road if I remember). Please be reasonably on time if you want to say hi to the group first!
The oldvic website has a trailer for it if you want to learn more, or go googling (or twitter searching)!
The theatre is at the top end of The Cut, not far from Waterloo mainline station (TfL says 3mins walk) and is well served by bus routes as well as (obviously) trains and tubes - Waterloo is on the Jubilee, Northern and Bakerloo lines and also served very easily from Bank via the Waterloo and City tube.
TICKETS: They should do a group discount of ~?10 for 10 bookings or more (sample ticket prices: ?27 but I need to check this and find the range), if you are willing to pay up front. PLEASE NOTE IN YOUR RSVP IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY UP FRONT BY MONDAY 8TH if I send out details late on Thurs eve (through Paypal via the meetup.com site) and we MAY
be able to organise this in time to book together. Don't try and pay anything yet if you want to do this.
