We've been talking about having a day-long meetup for a while folks, and this is it.
Saturday the 15th May will be a day of talks on a variety of Kohana-related topics, as well as time to meet and exchage ideas with fellow Kohana developers.
We have presentations on HMVC, scaling, deployment, code migration, templating, prototyping, ORM, Gearman, and a Kohana 3 Masterclass from Woody Gilk.
Some of the core devs will be there, including Woody (Shadowhand) and Sam (Samsoir), as well as a variety of faces and lurkers from the forums.
For more information download the KOnference Information PDF, and to secure your place please pay in advance via the PayPal link on this page.
See you there :)
Dave
Would also love to hear from Woody something about how he sees his and other devs roles in the framework and how he intends to manage the dev team and the community contributions in the future.
Leo and Rob's presentations look really interesting btw. And Dave, I'd be interested in what you have to say!
Glad you're interested in my talk Paul, will have to think about how to make it interesting now! Might combine it with Rob's as we're both from Mukuru, though his will be more from a user perspective and I'll probably delve into more technical info. And I would definitely like to hear more about Jelly, and in particular it's differences from Sprig and ORM. Seems to me from the forums I'm not the only one!
Will be good to catch up with Leo / Rob / Syd and meet the rest of you guys!
I have been thinking of a KO template engine. Would Dave please see if we can get some one to talk about that as well please.
Nelson, I wont be doing a talk but check out Twig. It's maintained by Fabien Potencier (Symfony creator) and has some cool features such as template inheritance, automatic escaping and new syntax. You can find a module for it here: http://github.com/jonathangeiger/kohana-twig![]()

What's going on with this? We have a potential sponsor for the venue, but I haven't heard a peep from Dave in weeks.
Hmm, I didn't realise that the whole "what did you think of the meetup thing" went in the sidebar... hehe
Haha Matt, your innermost feelings are aired in public!
Hehe, well I just wasn't expecting that bit to be made public. I would probably have written less if I'd known, but I'm not ashamed at all ;)
Refunds offered if:
Payments you make go to the organizer, not to Meetup. You must make refund requests to the organizer.

My presentation was a suggestion only - would be interested to know what people are really interested in. Jelly may be slightly interesting but I'm not sure it will be mature enough to be the subject of a whole presentation. Anyone have ideas about alternatives?
