Dear all,

a new season of group therapy!- http://www.meetup.com/grouptherapy.

As you may know, I run a number of workshops and practise groups ? particularly in the field of personal development (http://www.meetup.com/masternlp).

So, you?re interested in personal development? That?s great. Yes, there are a number of meetups out there from which you can learn to improve personal and professional interactions through persuasive and influential communication skills, to read body language, to impress others, etc? that?s not what this group is about. I?ve been to many of them ? and more often than not, I?ve come across the ?I?m ok, you?re not ok? group facilitator, one?s that parrot other established self-help gurus, use their quotes and say ?you might want to write this down...?.

This group is about expressing your true self? working with real issues that each of us face in the present.

We so often hide our true selves behind the masks that we wear. We present ourselves in a way in which we believe is acceptable to the world. We have conditioned ourselves to become robotic, repeating patterns that are way too old. We conform to the expectations of others and constantly seek to gain approval? but how aware are we? How much do we authentically express ourselves?

Group Season 5 will start on Monday 26th April 2010 -http://www.meetup.com/grouptherapy..

This is a space in which real discovery is made ? dropping all the masks and revealing who we really are. We share our true selves, gain feedback and insights and grow through experiencing others and ourselves. The goal of our work together will be to identify and transcend our limiting patterns and beliefs and to enhance our interpersonal relationships. Therefore, sincere, honest, and authentic participation is necessary.

My style: as a therapist, and as a trainer of; nlp, hypnosis, timeline therapy, and nlp coaching, I have been able to marry different approaches together ? adding my own insight to create my own, very unique way of therapy. In this space, people?s patterns and limitations are identified, participants are challenged and new ways of thinking are instilled. We work as a group to support and encourage each other into action that really makes a difference in our experience of what we call life.

Feedback from some former members:

?It seriously is the real deal and at an awesome (seriously unbeatable) price. If you're considering signing up I'd say definitely go for it. I'm certainly glad I did, not just because the meetup itself has far exceeded my expectations but also because group therapy has turned out to be so much more powerful than I'd anticipated.?

?Because everyone in the group is so genuine and supportive - you never feel alone, we are all in it together.?

?If you want an honest, open and safe place to share your thoughts, this is the place to go. Everyone who attended my Group were very keen and authentic with their sharing. It is a humbling experience to hear other people's stories and allow that to help progress my journey.?

?If you want to go deeper into yourself, that`s a real opportunity.?

To ensure that the integrity of the group is kept, this will be a closed group and restricted in number of participants (once it starts, nobody new can join until the next season).

Before I take participants into the group, to determine suitability and the right mix of participants, I like to do a 15 min interview/chat. If you are interested, please join by clicking this link:

The new season will begin on Monday, April 26th and will be held in Holborn, two minutes walk from the station. Each of the 10 sessions will take place between 7-10pm and it will cost only ?25 per session!

I am a fully Qualified Integrative Therapist, a certified Trainer of NLP, a certified Trainer of Hypnosis, a Trainer of TimeLine Therapy, and a Trainer in NLP Coaching. After all, they are just titles ? but they do suggest that I am qualified to do what I do. Please do feel free to check the feedback http://www.meetup.com/grouptherapy.. Previously, this group had 74 ratings, with an average of 4.94/5 ? that says something doesn?t it??

I do value my time, so please only call me (on 07854001326) if you have a genuine interest in joining this group. I also value your time and take this opportunity to thank you for reading this email.

Best Wishes,

Ali Asghar

For more info on group and how it works, please read this extract:

In group therapy approximately 6-12 individuals meet face-to-face with a trained group therapist. Interaction between group members is highly encouraged and provides each person with an opportunity to try out new ways of behaving; it also provides members with an opportunity for learning more about the way they interact with others. It is a safe environment in which members work to establish a level of trust that allows them to talk personally and honestly. Group members make a commitment to the group and are instructed that the content of the group sessions are confidential.

It is not appropriate for group members to disclose events of the group to an outside person. When people come into a group and interact freely with other group members, they usually recreate those difficulties that brought them to group therapy in the first place. Under the direction of the group therapist, the group is able to give support, offer alternatives, and comfort members in such a way that these difficulties become resolved.

During group therapy, people may begin to see that they are not alone and that there is hope and help. It has long been recognised that we can often feel awkward when viewing ourselves on videos or listening to our own voices on tape recordings. Group therapy explores this anxiety around how we appear and how we are perceived and provides an opportunity to begin to understand how we may be experienced by another person, in a safe and secure setting. Of course it can just be comforting to hear that other people have had similar difficulties.
