february Gig Meetup - Defenders of the faith Pt 2!
Hey guys. Last year it was Arch enemy and Opeth, this year Dimmu Borgir and Lamb of God.
I reckon meeting at a pub 30 mins before the doors will be good. There's 3 (maybe 4) bands on and I figure we could get in a few pints before the gig.

The gig is on at Brixton academy (as you can see). As far as I know there are no planned closures for the tubes.

I will be in a pub called "The Beehive" from around this time (possibly before depending on how wasted I wish to be) Here's a map to the pub - just go out of tube station and turn right down the main road - for those of you coming by overground rail go to Brixton Road out of the Brixton rail station. For those of you driving contact me of you need any help!

I'm thinking V-day is the perfect occasion for my first live metal experience (apparently Download 2008 doesn't count!). Just wondering whether 'stalls-standing' might be a step too far for a metal virgin? I usually head to the front of rock gigs so don't mind a bit of a battle but prob not an all out mosh pit... any advice???

hey emma,i like 2 b as close 2 front as poss. bouncers' eyes giv u clue wen surfers r on their way -plus u get water if u r lucky!!Most ofmoshin is behind u altho if a circle opens up it can be a bit painful.slightly smaller bands r mor dangrous cos overexcite boys by jumpin in wiv em/sharin mic/ inviting em to jump up on stage. if we look like we will be killed we can move slightly 2 side and just b mutilated,lol!So u up 4 it?

EMMA, my original comment was too long and by time i had edited i think it cums across differently 2 wot i intended. wat i am sayin is u will b fine. u r used to going to gigs and bein up front,so this will be no problem. every1 likes to do sumfin different- sum pple prefer to hang around at back near bar, so standin tickets dusnt mean u will b cort up in mosh pit. u go wher u feel safest!

Hi Hannah, most definitely up for it! Will try standing and as suggested can always take the side mutilation option if necessary!! Or the bar. Thanks for your advice. Look forward to meeting :)

Well bands were great shame more people didn't come along though. Lamb of God's set list was mostly old stuff too, which was nice. Enjoyed Dimmu Borgir too ;D

Evaexcellent meetup but where was every1 who sed they wud b there? Strange. As b4, George and Akasha were always about and showed gr8 dedication by waitin in pub,lol, for any1 to turn up. Unearth were good btw, cos u missed those being stuc in pub. cheers!!
